Advice, news and opinions on topics related to credit.
Credilink, as a credit intermediary, acts as the link between the client and financial institutions. Credilink’s role is not to grant credit but to present proposals, provide advice, and support clients throughout the process.
When you contact us, we will process your personal data to respond to your enquiries, provide clarification, and/or deliver our services.
You may contact us by phone, email, or through our contact form (‘credit simulation tool’) available on this website. If you do so, we will collect your name, telephone number, email address, and information related to your credit simulation (purpose, amount, and term) so that you can be identified and we can provide accurate information tailored to your needs.
Our services are intended for individuals aged 18 or over.
To provide our services, within the scope of obtaining credit from Credilink’s partner institutions, we will request that you send the necessary information and documentation.
After this information and documentation are received by Credilink, they will be shared with our partner financial institutions, which will act as the Data Controller for the personal data in order to:
verify the identity of the client and other involved parties;
analyse and present the financing proposal, noting that the financial institution is required to assess the client’s creditworthiness prior to granting credit, which entails the mandatory consultation of the Credit Responsibilities Register as well as other databases;
To obtain more information on how each of these partners processes your personal data, you may consult their respective Privacy Policies or request further information directly from them.
The updated list of Credilink’s partner financial institutions can be found at: https://credilink.pt/informacao-legal/
You may exercise your rights with the partners with whom Credilink has shared your personal data. If you wish to do so, you must address your request to the contact provided by the respective partner.
Your information will be shared with the financial institutions we work with, whose updated list can be consulted here: https://credilink.pt/informacao-legal/
Credilink may need to share your personal data with judicial or administrative authorities, as well as supervisory or regulatory bodies.
We process your personal data within the territory of the European Union / European Economic Area (EU/EEA). Any transfers of personal data outside the EU/EEA will always be carried out securely and lawfully, under the mechanisms permitted by Chapter V of the GDPR.
We use service providers that enable us to create the necessary infrastructure to carry out our activities. Among the business solutions we use for this purpose are Microsoft’s cloud and applications. Microsoft is one of the commercial organizations participating in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, thereby ensuring an adequate level of protection for personal data. To learn how this company processes your personal data, please consult its Privacy Policy.
Your personal data will be retained for the periods required by law or until the purposes of the processing have been fulfilled, whichever applies.
When we process your personal data to respond to your enquiries or clarify our services, we rely on our ‘Legitimate Interest’ in communicating with the client and managing the commercial relationship as the legal basis, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
When we process your personal data to provide our services of presenting proposals and offering financial advice, within the scope of obtaining credit from Credilink’s partner institutions, the legal basis will be your ‘Consent’, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. The client has the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal. However, you should be aware that the continuation of our services may be affected or become impossible, as may the completion of the credit approval process.
When we are required to comply with certain legal obligations arising from applicable legislation (e.g., mandatory communications to regulators or administrative authorities), the legal basis for processing the relevant information will be ‘Legal Obligation’, in accordance with Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR.
At Credilink, we do not carry out any type of decisions based solely on automated processing that may produce significant effects on your legal situation or your private life (e.g., a decision not to grant credit through an immediate decision-making process based exclusively on automated means). However, you should consult the respective privacy policies of our partners to obtain information on how decisions are made and what your rights are. For most mortgage loans, the client is required to take out a life insurance policy.
Credilink is authorised by the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority (ASF) to operate as an insurance agent.
The Insurer will be the Data Controller for the processing of your personal data.
As a Processor, Credilink will have access only to the personal data strictly necessary to present you with an insurance proposal and to provide information and assistance. It is the client who completes the form to be submitted directly to the insurer.
Credilink does not store the personal data to which it has access. The personal data will be shared directly with the Insurer, which will store them in its own systems. You should consult the Insurer’s Privacy Policy to understand how your personal data are processed.
The insurance policy will be shared with the bank with which you will enter into the mortgage loan agreement.
To access personal data within the scope of pre-contractual procedures aimed at entering into an insurance contract, the legal basis will be ‘Pre-contractual steps taken at your request’, in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR.
